Brentford get this Premier League match under way.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary for the Premier League clash between Wolves and Brentford.
Wolves took another step towards Premier League survival after beating Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in their previous outing. Their narrow 1-0 victory extended the gap between themselves and the relegation zone to four points, with the Midlands outfit in 13th position. Wolves have six wins, two draws and seven losses in 15 league games at Molineux this campaign and have had a pattern of winning one and then losing one at home since the World Cup. They have also done well when welcoming teams from London this season, beating West Ham, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Brentford’s hopes of qualifying for European football hang in the balance after failing to win any of their last four Premier League games, losing their previous two against Manchester United and Newcastle United. Since beating bottom-of-the-league Southampton in the middle of March, Thomas Frank’s men have dropped from eighth to ninth and are now seven points behind sixth-placed Aston Villa. The Bees have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine fixtures and have won just one of their last six games on the road.
WOLVES SUBS: Daniel Bentley, Nathan Collins, Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence, Hwang Hee-Chan, Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore, Joseph Hodge, Hugo Bueno.
BRENTFORD SUBS: Thomas Strakosha, Yoane Wissa, Zanka, Saman Ghoddos, Frank Onyeka, Mikkel Damsgaard, Shandon Baptiste, Vitaly Janelt, Mads Roerslev.
BRENTFORD (4-4-2): David Raya; Aaron Hickey, Ethan Pinnock, Ben Mee, Rico Henry; Josh Dasilva, Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen, Bryan Mbeumo; Ivan Toney, Kevin Schade.
WOLVES (4-4-2): Jose Sa; Nelson Semedo, Craig Dawson, Maximilian Kilman, Toti; Matheus Nunes, Joao Gomes, Mario Lemina, Pablo Sarabia; Matheus Cunha, Diego Costa.
Wolves are well worth their half-time lead. They have had better chances than Brentford and are causing Hickey and Henry all sorts of problems. The Bees' full-backs like getting forward, but they are getting exposed defensively, with Nunes and Sarabia getting forward effectively to stretch the pitch. Costa has been used as a target man, something Brentford should try and replicate with Toney. The striker has had a few shots but has not really been involved in the game. Most of his work has been done outside the box. Mbeumo and Schade are playing on the wings but need to get closer to him.
That's all for today, goodbye.
Wolves are seven points clear of the relegation zone after their victory over Brentford. They will be confident of securing their third successive win when they travel to Leicester City for their next match. As for Brentford, they will be looking to recapture their form when they host Aston Villa.
