Hello and welcome to live coverage of the European Championships qualifier between England and Ukraine at Wembley Stadium.
The hosts come into this game full of confidence after a battling 2-1 victory away at Italy on Thursday got their bid to reach a fourth straight European Championships off to a great start, putting them top of Group C after one match despite having to cling on at the end after Luke Shaw's red card. They were runners-up at Euro 2020 and will harbour hopes of going one better in Germany next year should they qualify.
Meanwhile, this will be the visitors' first and only qualifier of the international break, though they did beat Brentford B 2-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday. Their trip to Wembley will be their first competitive action since a 0-0 draw with Scotland in September, which saw Steve Clarke's men pip them to promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.
ENGLAND (4-3-3): Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell; Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson, Jude Bellingham; Bukayo Saka, Harry Kane, James Maddison.
SUBS: Aaron Ramsdale, Fraser Forster, Kieran Trippier, Marc Guehi, Eric Dier, Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Conor Gallagher, Ivan Toney.
The two teams make their way onto the pitch at Wembley ahead of this important qualifier.
England led 2-0 at half-time against Italy before having to dig in during a difficult second half to earn all three points. Can Ukraine force them to have to do the same here, or will the Three Lions see this out more comfortably?
Thanks for joining us for live coverage of England's 2-0 win over Ukraine in a European Championships qualifier at Wembley Stadium.
That victory makes it two wins from two games in Group C to put Southgate's men in a great position to kick on and qualify for the tournament in Germany next year. His players will return to their clubs for the rest of the domestic season, but they will be back on international duty in June for another pair of qualifiers, away at Malta and then at home to North Macedonia. For Ukraine, there is still plenty of time for them to get their campaign back on track and seal their place at Euro 2024. Their next match will be a trip to North Macedonia on June 16.
