Juventus get this Serie A clash under way.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary for the Serie A clash between Cremonese and Juventus.
Cremonese have failed to win any of their 15 league games this season, with their run of three successive draws ending with a loss to Empoli last time out. Promoted from Serie B in the previous campaign, Massimiliano Alvini’s side are at the bottom of the table with seven points and are eight points behind Lecce, who are in 17th position. The last three teams without a win after 15 Serie A games finished in 20th place.
As for Juventus, they flew up the table with six consecutive league wins before the World Cup break. After a 2-0 loss to Milan, victories over Torino, Empoli, Lecce, Inter, Verona and Lazio have seen the Italian giants move up to third place. However, they are still 10 points behind league leaders Napoli, who have won 13 of their 15 games. Playing one game less than Milan, who occupy the position above, Massimiliano Allegri’s team will be two points off second with a win.
CREMONESE SUBS: Gianluca Saro, Mouhamadou Sarr, Jack Hendry, Emanuel Aiwu, Daniel Ciofani, Cristian Buonaiuto, Paolo Ghiglione, Felix Afena-Gyan, Giacomo Quagliata, Tommaso Milanese, Frank Tsadjout, Luca Zanimacchia.
CREMONESE (3-5-2): Marco Carnesecchi; Alex Ferrari, Matteo Bianchetti, Luka Lochoshvili; Leonardo Sernicola, Michele Castagnetti, Charles Pickel, Soualiho Meite, Emanuele Valeri; David Okereke, Cyriel Dessers.
JUVENTUS (3-5-1-1): Wojciech Szczesny; Federico Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Matìas Soule, Weston McKennie, Manuel Locatelli, Nicolo Fagioli, Filip Kostic; Fabio Miretti, Arkadiusz Milik.
JUVENTUS SUBS: Carlo Pinsoglio, Mattia Perin, Federico Chiesa, Alex Sandro, Moise Kean, Daniele Rugani, Adrien Rabiot, Leandro Paredes, Tommaso Barbieri, Samuel Iling-Junior, Enzo Barrenechea.
The World Cup break has had a positive effect on Cremonese, who are not playing like a side at the bottom of the table without a win. They have been positive in possession, countering on opposition mistakes and have defended as a unit. Carnesecchi has been called into action on a couple of occasions, but only with efforts from outside the box. As for Juventus, they need to increase their attacking intensity if they are to score. After a poor start to the game, Soule has been their most effective attacker. However, he always cuts inside, making Valeri's life easier. Kostic has also looked dangerous, but the pair need to do more to get Milik in the game. Having scored twice against Lazio, Kean should be added to the attack, with Miretti struggling to make an impact.
That's all for today, goodbye.
Next up, Cremonese travel to Verona in Serie A, with Juventus hosting Udinese.
