Leicester’s return to domestic football after the World Cup couldn’t have started worse, with the Foxes losing their first two games back after the restart. A 3-0 home loss against Newcastle on Boxing Day was compounded by a 2-1 defeat at Liverpool four days later, with Liverpool’s goals coming via Leicester defender Wout Faes turning the ball into his own net, twice.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this fixture in the Premier League, as Leicester City take on Fulham at the King Power Stadium.
It’s been the opposite for eighth-placed Fulham though, who have won both their games since the World Cup break by the exact same scorelines. A 3-0 win at London rivals Crystal Palace came following two red cards for the hosts, while a late winner from Joao Palhinha saw them win 2-1 against Southampton last time out, despite Aleksandar Mitrovic missing a stoppage-time penalty.
FULHAM SUBS: Marek Rodak, Layvin Kurzawa, Harry Wilson, Tom Cairney, Manor Solomon, Nathaniel Chalobah, Daniel James, Carlos Vinicius, Issa Diop.
FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Kenny Tete, Tosin Adarabioyo, Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson; Harrison Reed, Joao Palhinha; Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Andreas Pereira, Willian; Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The teams make their way onto the pitch, and we're ready and raring to go at the King Power!
LEICESTER CITY (4-2-3-1): Danny Ward; Timothy Castagne, Daniel Amartey, Wout Faes, Luke Thomas; Youri Tielemans, Boubakary Soumare; Ayoze Perez, Wilfred Ndidi, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: Daniel Iversen, Caglar Soyuncu, Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannik Vestergaard, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Nampalys Mendy, Lewis Brunt, Kasey McAteer.
The teams return for the second half, and can Leicester find a way back into this game?
That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Leicester's third loss on the spin since the restart leaves them 13th in the table, lucky to not have been overtaken by any of the sides below them, although three of the sides within a win of the Foxes have at least one game in hand. For Fulham, their first season back in the top-flight goes from strength to strength, as they consolidate their place in seventh, above sides such as Brighton, who also won their corresponding match, and West London rivals Chelsea, who sit 10th, three points behind the in-form Cottagers.
