Arsenal are looking to make a strong finish to 2022, as they aim to go seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table. They've lost just once in the league all season, and are currently on a nine-match unbeaten run in the competition (W8 D1), winning the last four in a row, including a 3-1 win over West Ham on Monday. Brighton also got the better of Southampton by the same scoreline on their return to the Premier League. They've lost two of their four home games since Roberto De Zerbi took over, but have already beaten Arsenal this season, knocking them out of the EFL Cup with a 3-1 victory in November.

As things stand, Arsenal are heading seven points clear at the top of the Premier League. Arteta will be fairly pleased with his side's performance in the first half, though things started to get a bit frantic just before the break. Brighton have struggled to break their opponents down at times, but still created some good chances, which they'll need more of in the second half.
Arsenal have now won their last five league games in a row as they extend their lead at the top of the table. They host third-place Newcastle United on Tuesday. Brighton stay in eighth, with a trip to Everton next up for them.
