Stoppage in play here as Costa is down with a head injury, the striker is taking his time here, but appears fine to continue.

Final Girona change now, with Aleix Garcia coming off and he has been replaced by Fernandez.

It all comes from a quick counter-attack by the visitors, a long, hopeful ball towards Costa causing confusion in the Girona defence and the striker is able to bring the ball down. Just as he goes to strike the ball towards goal, Ramalho tries to clear the ball, but ends up firing it into the back of his own net. Game on!

Atletico corner, can they create something from a set piece? The answer is no. Savic gets on the end of the cross but his effort goes well wide of the goal.

Atletico need to increase the pace of their game if they are to carve out any opportunities here, because despite their dominance on the ball, they are not playing with enough pace in order to break down the Girona defence.
57'
There are no signs of a Atletico comeback at the moment, they haven't threatened so far in this second half, with the hosts defending well in numbers and still looking dangerous at the other end of the pitch themselves.

Girona are allowing the visitors to enjoy the possession at the moment, as it's all in the middle of the pitch and they aren't really threatening to break into their defensive third. Pretty comfortable so far.
48'
No changes by either side at the break, it will be interesting to see how long Atletico wait before making a change here as they didn't threaten much in the first half.

Corner to Atletico after Thomas' cross is blocked, can the visitors create anything from the set piece? The ball is whipped into the box and Diego Costa goes down in the middle and appeals for a foul, but the referee isn't interested and waves away his appeals.
30'
It's goalless at the half an hour mark, with not too many chances for either side to break the deadlock but there is a good pace to the game as it's end-to-end at the moment.
28'
Diego Simeone doesn't look happy on the sidelines, apart from their early pressure, they haven't really troubled the Girona defence, who at the moment, look very comfortable.
26'
The home supporters are creating a wonderful atmosphere inside the Estadi Montilivi, really getting behind their team and urging them forward, sensing that they can break through this Atletico side.
24'
Atletico don't look comfortable at the moment, they are struggling to cope with the high press that Girona are putting them under and the hosts are finding gaps in their defence.
20'
There are a few challenges flying in now and the game isn't flowing freely due to the amount of free-kicks been awarded. So far, Girona will be the much happier of the two sides.
18'
CLOSE! Aleix Garcia steps up to take the free-kick, gets the ball over the wall and it looks to be heading into the top left-hand corner, but it just bends away at the last moment and drifts wide of the Atletico goal.
17'
A. Griezmann gets yellow.
Griezmann is shown the first yellow card of the game for his challenge on Aleix Garcia. His foot was very high as he went into the challenge, connecting with the head of the Girona man.

12'
Decent effort! Girona with their first chance from the resulting corner. Atletico failed to deal with the initial ball into the box, only clearing it as far as Granell on the edge of the box, who fires a first time volley towards the bottom corner, but it drifts narrowly wide of Oblak's goal.
11'
This is much better from Girona, they've managed to win the ball back and enjoy some possession of their own, winning a corner after Porro beats two defenders down the right wing and whips a cross into the box, which has to be headed behind.
7'
Girona have everyone back behind the ball at the moment, as Atletico are dominating possession and are probing right on the edge of the hosts penalty area.
5'
Good save! Griezmann forces the first save of the match, his low effort from the edge of the penalty area has to be pushed around the post by Bono. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
4'
Borja Garcia with a terrific run down the left wing, catching Atletico on the break. He manages to get all the way to the byline and put a cross into the six-yard box, but Atletico manage to head the ball clear.
3'
Early Atletico dominance here, they have kept the ball well in midfield and have Girona penned inside their own half in these early stages. However, the hosts are pressing high and not letting the likes of Diego Costa and Griezmann get on the ball.

The hosts have played well, frustrating Atletico at times and before the goal, they had a couple of half chances to score, but their efforts flew just wide of the goal.
Atletico started the game well, dominating the first 10 minutes of the match, but they haven't carved open enough goalscoring chances, with Griezmann and Costa struggling to get on the ball in the final third. They did strike the crossbar midway through the first half, after an excellent move in the box led to Saul hitting the woodwork from just a couple of yards out.
That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
